I started out down this road to becoming a photographer by just wanting to snap photos of everyone smiling at the camera, which is often a challenge in itself. I am finding more and more that the images I love creating the most are not simply a smile photo but a photo that captures a connection and the distinct personality of the person in the photo.
Photos that say something and are like a little window in the life with the family I am taking the photos of or a glimpse of real personality. Those moments are my favorite.
Morning is one of my favorite times to photograph. I love this time of year too! The fog, the autumn colors. It's so inspiring. And when you throw a 3 year old in to the mix you never know what you are going to get.
On this morning the sweet boy was so cooperative that we moved through the session quickly giving me a new idea.
Why not take photos of Mom and Dad? When was the last time you had a really great picture of you and your significant other? I know I think my wedding day comes to mind. Why wasn't I doing this all along?
I just love the way these two goofed around. I think I can still see a little sparkle in their eyes for each other in this shot. So cute!
