I started out down this road to becoming a photographer by just wanting to snap photos of everyone smiling at the camera, which is often a challenge in itself. I am finding more and more that the images I love creating the most are not simply a smile photo but a photo that captures a connection and the distinct personality of the person in the photo.
Photos that say something and are like a little window in the life with the family I am taking the photos of or a glimpse of real personality. Those moments are my favorite.

Morning is one of my favorite times to photograph. I love this time of year too! The fog, the autumn colors. It's so inspiring. And when you throw a 3 year old in to the mix you never know what you are going to get. ![]() On this morning the sweet boy was so cooperative that we moved through the session quickly giving me a new idea. Why not take photos of Mom and Dad? When was the last time you had a really great picture of you and your significant other? I know I think my wedding day comes to mind. Why wasn't I doing this all along? I just love the way these two goofed around. I think I can still see a little sparkle in their eyes for each other in this shot. So cute! |
